Hero of Lesser Causes is a book about a twelve year old girl names keely and her brother name Patrick who gets polio during the novel. keely puts her whole life on hold because she wants to help her brother. polio is a deases that paralyzes you. patrick was paralyzed from his neck to his feet and he could not move. At first patrick gave up and thought he had no reason to live but later on with his sisters support he realizes that he can do it and suddenly starts trying to move his fingers and is sucessful in moving his finger. keely helps patrick as much as she can and helps him a lot.
