The Hot Zone

“The Hot Zone, A Terrifying True Story” by Richard Preston is a non-fiction thriller that tells that true story of the sudden appearance of a highly infectious and deadly virus in the central African rain forest. A secret military SWAT team of soldiers and scientists is mobilized to stop the outbreak of this exotic “hot” virus.
Preston, a reporter from the New Yorker, based this book on an article he wrote in 1992 about the deadly spread of Ebole and Marburg viruses.
